Trump will mobilize 2,000 extra US National Guard Army to LA

Washington (Antara) – Governor of California Gavin Newsom On Monday (9/6) said that US President Donald Trump would use 2,000 extra national vangoop troops in response to immigration protests in Los Angeles.

“I has just been told that Trump will use 2,000 soldiers from the National Guard in LA,” said Newsom at X.

Earlier on Saturday (7/6), Trump signed a direction that confirmed its authority to mobilize at least 2,000 national guard troops to Los Angeles after a collision between immigration officials and protesters.

“The first 2,000 soldiers were mobilized, they received no food or water. Only about 300 people were deployed.

“This is not about public safety. This is about satisfying the dangerous presidential ego. This is a result. It makes no sense. And does not respect our troops,” he added.

The US North Command (USNORLHCC) said on Monday that they would send 700 Marines to Los Angeles to help the National Guard respond to protests related to immigration.

“Because of the increase in the threats for the enforcers of federal rights and federal buildings, around 700 American marines who have used active tasks from Camp Pendleton are deployed in Los Angeles to restore order,” said Defense Minister Pete Hegseeth.

On Monday, Newsom announced a lawsuit against Trump and said that the mobilization of the National Guard was “illegal” by the president and violated the sovereignty of the country. “We sued Donald Trump. This is a crisis that has been made up,” wrote Newsom on X.

“He created fear and fear of taking over the militias of the country and to break the American constitution,” he continued.

A number of protests started on Friday (6/6), after the immigration and customs enforcement agent (ICE) invaded the local activities and had arrested hundreds of people who were suspected of living illegally in the US.

Trump’s government said that ice attacks would take place as part of the president’s plan to combat illegal immigration activities.
