Menbud unveiled the plan of the house of Bing Slamet as a museum

Jakarta (Antara) – Culture Minister Fadli Zon revealed that the government with the comedian family, actors and singers of the late Bing Slamet intend to make his home as a museum.

“The government, together with the extensive family of Bing, has long intended to make the house of the deceased as a museum. This idea was born from the desire to remember and appreciate the services of Bing Slamet, an Indonesian legendary artist who is known as a singer, cabaretier and versatile actors,” said Menbud Fadli on Tuesday.

Together with the Bing Slamet family, represented by Lucky and Iyut Bing Slamet, Menbud Fadli Zon surrounded the building of Bing Slamet, which still showed the original impression as when it was lived. Some parts of the house will experience small renovations, especially when supporting infrastructure.

Menbud Fadli Zon said that the process was carried out while maintaining the authenticity of the building, in particular the Bing Slamet Private Room, which would be maintained as the original for the historical value.

In addition to the building, the minister also inspected the objects and various personal collections of the deceased, such as guitar, award certificate and other memorabilia that he appreciated was a valuable treasure.

Fadli Zon expressed his hope that this historic house could be developed into the Bing Slamet Museum, as a form of respect for its services in the world of Indonesian art and culture.

“We hope that this house can be activated through cruising sectoral cooperation in a living space of art activities, which not only remembers the figure of Bing Slamet as a great artist, but also an inspiration for the younger generation,” he said.

Minister Fadli also hopes that the Bing Slamet Museum through collaboration with various parties, when it is later open, can become a place for artistic activities, especially art related to the progress of the Maestro.

“Hopefully we can activate as a place for artistic activities related to the late Bing Slamet, and remember his services as singers, actors, comedians and much more. We know him as talented people,” said the Minister of Menbud.

Iyut Bing Slamet said that the father’s personal collection would be exhibited in a special framework that received an informative story, so that visitors know the contribution of Bing Slamet to the Indonesian art world.
