Jakarta (Antara) – President Prabowo Subianto said that food production in the form of rice and corn in Indonesia has increased sharply to 50 percent in seven months of his government.
President Pabowo, at the International Economic Forum of St. Petersburg (Spief) 2025 in St. Petersburg, Russia, Friday (6/20), said that the 50 percent increase was the largest in the history of the Indonesian people.
“In my seven months from the government, rice and corn production rose by around 50 percent, the largest increase in Indonesian history. With driving reserves that reached 4.4 million tons, the highest record,” he said by the presidential media team Prabowo in Jakarta on Saturday.
The head of state explained that it could be achieved because his government had reduced various regulations that hinded the development in the country.
He also emphasized that the extermination of corruption is still being maintained.
“This effort was made by deregulation, the reduction of inhibiting regulations and the firm extermination of corruption,” he said.
That is why Pabowo is optimistic that Indonesia can increasingly play a role in the international arena, such as via Brics membership and the new Development Bank.
“I am sure that Indonesia can play a positive role in international relations, for example through Brics and the new Development Bank membership, where Indonesia is quickly accepted by Russia, China and South Africa,” he said.
