Jakarta (Antara) – The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) hopes that the provincial government of DKI Jakarta (Pemprov) can contribute to the national action plan for the prevention and management of the extremism of violence that leads to the second phase of terrorism (Ran PE).
In an audience with the deputy governor of DKI Jakarta in Jakarta, Thursday (6/19), the head of the BNPT -Politie -general -general Eddy Hartono emphasized the importance of synergy and cooperation of all parties, including with the DKI Jakarta provincial government.
“The prevention strategy is good enough, of course due to the spirit of cooperation in preventing terrorism that is enlightened in sincerity,” said Komjen Pol. Eddy, as confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday.
He explained that the contribution of the provincial government could be implemented through work programs and implementation to the regional action plan for the prevention of violent extremism that leads to terrorism (Rad PE).
On this occasion, Eddy also explained the tasks and functions of BNPT, as well as priority programs and activities included in the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029.
“Based on the number 5 Act of 2018, the government is obliged to take prevention. In the context of prevention, the RPJMN has been introduced where there are four priority activities and two BNPT national priority programs,” he said.
The head of BNPT detailed, no fewer than four priority activities that are referred, consist of coordination of synergy between defense and safety instruments in the prevention and control of terrorism, strengthening counter -radicalization, strengthening deradicalization and strengthening the center of analysis and control of the crisis.
Meanwhile, two BNPT national priority programs, namely national readiness and deradicalization outside prisons.
On the same occasion, DKI Jakarta spoke to the deputy governor Rano Karno his support for BNPT in an attempt to overcome terrorism in Indonesia, including the DKI Jakarta region. He emphasized the importance of readiness to face the threat of terrorism.
“Hopefully today’s meeting is the first step of continuous cooperation,” said Rano Karno.
Rano added that the province of DKI Jakarta is currently trying to realize Jakarta to a worldwide city and a competitive, sustainable and prosperous development center for all its citizens, as mentioned in the DKI Jakarta Regional Development Plan (RPJMD) 2025-2029.
For this reason, whatever his party can do with BNPT, he said, will be done, which will then be followed by the DKI Jakarta National Unity and Political (Kesbangpol).
