Hamilton, Canada (Antara) – US President Donald Trump, Friday (6/20), denied the assessment of his intelligence community that Iran did not develop nuclear weapons and immediately rejected the testimony that was sworn in by his national intelligence director.
“Then my intelligence community is wrong. Why does the intelligence community say that?” Trump told reporters when he was asked about the official US position that Iran is currently not building nuclear weapons.
When the reporter replied that Tulsi Gabbard, the American national intelligence director, who explained that position, Trump replied: “He was wrong.”
The president responded to the testimony of the Congress of Gabbard, who told the MPs in March that the intelligence community “continued to judge that Iran did not build nuclear weapons and had not passed the highest leader (Ayatollah Ali) Khamenei that was postponed in 2003.”
“IC continues to follow carefully or Tehran decides to complete his nuclear weapon program,” said Gabbard, with the help of the IC -ACRONMEM for the American intelligence community.
CNN reported on Tuesday separately (6/17), that American intelligence was not sure that Iran was currently built a nuclear bomb and estimated that it would take at least two to three years to produce and spread to focus on the selected state.
CNN quoted four anonymous sources that knew the problem.
Regional tension has increased since 13 June, when Israel launched air strikes at various locations in Iran, including military and nuclear facilities that encourage Tehran to launch a counterattack.
The Israeli authorities said that at least 24 people were killed and that hundreds of others have since been injured in Iranian rocket attacks. Iran said that at least 224 people had died and that more than a thousand people were injured in Israeli attacks.
American information is of the opinion that Israeli attacks can only hinder Iran’s nuclear programs within a few months, one of the officials said.
CNN said that despite considerable damage to the enrichment location on the Natanz site, the facilities that were kept tight in Fordow were in fact not touched by Israeli attacks.
