The DPR immediately called on the digital platform with regard to the revision of the Temporary Employment Act

“There is still a homework (homework) a bit in us. That is why we will immediately invite large digital platforms, such as YouTube, Netflix and Tiktok, so that we find an agreement,” “

Jakarta (Antara) – Member of the House of Representatives Committee I Nurul Arifin said that his party would immediately call on the representatives of the digital platform to discuss the position of the media exaggerated (OTT) or online content broadcast provider in the revision of the Temporary Employment Act.

“There are still a small homework in us. That is why we will immediately invite large digital platforms, such as YouTube, Netflix and Tiktok so that we find an agreement,” Nurul said under the Heritage Center, Jakarta, Thursday.

According to Nurul, the summons of the Digital Platform of the Public Hearing Meeting (RDPU) aim to later clarify the coverage regulated in the Uitzend Act: whether it only relates to conventional broadcasting media or OTT Media.

Given that today’s technological disruption, the Indonesian parliament wants the principle of justice under conventional temporary employment agencies and OTT entities.

“So that the tax that runs out can also be paid here, so that they (OTT) also have offices here, and so that they can also follow the rules here. So there is no difference. This is what we expect,” he said.

Nurul did not reveal when the summons was performed. But it was clear that he ensured that the parliament would accelerate the preparation of the problem stock (DIM) revising the temporary employment law.

“I think the RDPU is enough again. Then we complete it to put this bill together. Hopefully it can be faster,” he said.

After being prepared, Commission I will send a DIMD Omroep legislation as a regulatory discussion in the field of communication to the DPR RI LegiLation Agency (Baleg). Then DIM will be forwarded to the government.

“It takes time in the system, but hopefully we can at least soon have a law that arranges all this because we know that the media are now in a very alarming situation,” he said.

In the meantime, Vice Minister of Communication and Digital Nezar Patria said that his party was waiting for DIP of the DPR. When the draft has been received, the Komdigi and the Ministry of Rights will rush the revision of the Temporary Employment Act.

“We can also make discussions with existing ecosystems to enrich Dim, we see which gaps (gaps) of the design can be tried from the perspective of Komdigi. The Ministry of Law will also see harmony with existing rules,” he said on the same occasion.
