Beijing (Antara) – The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused the G7 group again to manipulate problems with China during their peak meeting in Canada.
“The G7 top again manipulated issues related to China,” said spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Guo Jiakun at a press conference in Beijing on Wednesday (6/18).
The G7 meeting in Canada took place on 15-17 June and was attended by seven permanent Member States: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Great Britain and the United States (US).
G7 leaders In his official statement, China asked to abstain from market distinction and adverse surplus capacity, to overcome global challenges and promote international peace and safety.
They also expressed serious concern about Chinese activities that were considered unstable in the East and South Chinese Sea and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the Taiwan street.
“G7 has made an irresponsible explanation about Taiwan, the South Chinese Sea and the East Chinese Sea, which wrongly accused China of doing ‘surplus capacity’ and ‘market distinction’,” said Guo.
“This is interference in Chinese internal matters and violations of basic standards for international relations.”
Guo added that China was firm against it and had submitted a strong protest to the relevant parties.
“The biggest factor that damages peace and stability in the street of Taiwan is the separatist activity of ‘Taiwan Independence’ and the interference of external forces,” he said.

If the G7 really cares about peace in the Strait of Taiwan, Guo said, they must meet the principle of one China, strongly against “Taiwan’s independence”, and support the reunification of China.
“Currently, the situation in the East Chinese Sea and the South Chinese Sea is generally stable. G7 must respect the joint efforts of countries in the region to solve problems through dialogue and consultation and peace and stability,” he said.
Guo also asked the G7 to stop using maritime issues to sow disputes between countries in the region and to increase regional tension.
At the G7 top, President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission China accused of execution of “distortion” in world trade because it caused surplus industrial capacity and excessive use of subsidies.
“What is called the accusation of ‘market distinction’ and ‘surplus capacity’ is completely true,” said Guo.
“G7 uses it as a reason for the protectionist practice of their trade, and in fact to resist and suppress and politicize the progress of Chinese industry and armed economic and trading problems.”
China, Guo said, again insisted on the G7 to leave the mentality of the Cold War and the ideological bias, to stop internal Chinese affairs, stopped inciting conflicts and confrontation and actions for the international community.
In addition to attending Von der Leyen and the Canadian Prime Minister (PM) Mark Carney as a host, the G7 top was also attended by US President Donald Trump, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Shaiguibaib.
The leaders discussed economic cooperation that developed with the region. They also emphasized the importance of free, open, prosperous and safe Indo-Pacific and safe based on the rule of law.
