The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources encourages the awareness of "Super Grid" via HVDC technology

To realize the Super Grid of Indonesia, further cooperation is needed between local and international partners in development policy frameworks, efficient transmissions and green financing and public involvement

Jakarta (Antara) -The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) encourages the development of inter -requires electrical transmission networks via high -voltage directorage (HVDC) technology, as a strategic effort to realize the Indonesia Super Grid project.

“To realize Indonesia Super Grid, Further Collaboration is needed between Local and International Partners in Developing Policy Frameworks, Efficient Transmissions and Green Fining, AS well as Public Involvement,” Said Muhadi Electric Power Power Distress of the Coordinator, Directly Coordinator, Directly Thermission Direct of the Coordinator, Coordinator, Coordic Power Powered Coordinator, Directly The Disial Powered Coordinator, Coordic Power Powered Coordinator, Direct Powered. Or the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, Wednesday.

One of the priority projects that draw up the government is the interconnection of Sumatra-Java (ISJ).

This project is intended to flow the potential of renewable energy from Sumatra to the most important consumption center on the island of Java. HVDC technology, both via air ducts and underwater cables, is identified as the most possible technical solution for this project.

Moreover, the development of the 500 kV high voltage for alternating current (HVAC) transmission network also takes place in Sumatra. While in Kalimantan the energy potential of 13 GW of the hydroelectric power station (PLTA) in the Kayan River and Mentarang requires a large -scale transmission network to Java and supporting the needs of the smilter industry in Sulawesi.

The application of HVDC technology in Indonesia is considered able to accelerate the integration of the smart grid and to support the penetration of renewable energy, in particular the type of variable renewable energy (VRE), as part of the national energy transition agenda.

Earlier, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia unveiled that the construction of electricity transmission reached a total of 47,758 kilometers from the circuit (KMS) in the next 10 years.

This network connects the EBT factories with the PLN substation and can then go to the distribution network to the customer or End user.

Of the total transmission that is planned to be built, the Javanese, Madura and Bali Regional is the longest, which is a total of 13.9 thousand km. Then 11.2 thousand km will also be built in Sumatra, 9.8 thousand km in Kalimantan and 9 thousand km in Sulawesi.

In addition, continued Bahlil, to strengthen the electricity system in East Indonesia, there will also be an extra transmission of 3.9 thousand km in the regional Maluku, Papua and Nusa Tenggara Regional.
