Head of BGN: MBG program has served 4.97 million recipients

Jakarta (Antara) – Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said that the Free Nutritional Eating Program (MBG) has served 4.97 million recipients in 38 provinces in Indonesia to this day.

“Alhamdulillah, from January 6, 2025 we launched a nutritious food in 26 provinces in 192 of the Nutrition Services Fulfillment Unit (SPPG), and today it has reached 1,785 SPPG throughout Indonesia in 38 provinces, and served 4.97 million recipients,” he said in Jakarta on Monday.

He also said, so far every SPPG has used about 68 thousand energy, with a percentage of more than 60 percent mothers aged 30 to 50, so that they can help relieve extreme poverty.

“Those who were housewives and had no income can now get a minimum income of RP2 million a month.

According to him, with the aim of President Pabowo Subianto to achieve 82.9 million goals at the end of the year, the economy also moved because it would authorize 30 thousand more SPPG.

“So when it reaches 82.9 million and reaches 30 thousand SPPG, this means that money will flow to the regions very quickly, because one SPPG will process at least RP8-10 billion, so this is a budget with large enough, can stimulate the economic potential of the region and increase productivity in the regions,” he explained.

In addition to absorbing work, the MBG program also has the potential to increase the income from the suppliers that is usually a village possession (bumdes).

“Because each SPPG is, at least 15 suppliers is needed, ranging from eggs, fruit, vegetables, rice, herbs and others, including those taking it. One SPPG uses around 800 liters of cooking oil every month, and 71 percent is used, means around 550 liters, and this can be accommodated by an average price of approximately rp. 7 thousand,” he said.
