The ships and the Malilla Secondary Education Institute or Valencia have made an application for mobile devices with which Macho numbers can be automatically detected and stored in a municipal database.
This initiative of the students of the Ies Malilla started with the start of a campaign to create the observatory aimed at checking the spread of misogynistic messages via digital platforms or conventional radio chains.
As explained by the councilor for Innovation, Jordi Peris, this application will “be comparable to Shazam, an application that detects numbers to automatically identify them.”
It is a work that “that combines innovation, participation, education and especially the struggle for equality,” said Peris.
Use and users of the app can also save comments with opinions on this subject, identify where they have heard it and consult the list of the detected numbers.
The intention is that this application will be announced through a citizen consciousness campaign, and that their services will be extended to videos and images, as well as the information recorded in the municipal database and is shared in the open data platform of the municipal council so that everyone can consult it as an educational or informative tool.
