Jakarta (Antara) – President Prabowo Subianto instructed the addition of 100 new locations for the People’s School (SR) that began to open in August -September 2025, so that it became 200 SR.
As confirmed in Jakarta on Saturday, Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Robben said that the president instructed Russia directly for another 100 new groundbreaking schools using the Work Training Center (BLK) that is located throughout Indonesia, so that there will be a total of 200 human schools.
“This People’s School Program is a presidential ideas program, not the program of the Ministry of Social, but then it must be supported by ladies and gentlemen,” said Robben.

The extra location will benefit from BLK, both owned by the Ministry of Manpower and the government of different provinces, districts and cities as part of the groundbreaking phase of these two priority programs.
The government has formed a People’s School Administration team in which Task Force of Cross -Boards and Regional Governments are involved. For the first phase, 100 points were referred to as a pioneering location and started to carry out learning in July 2025.
A total of 100 land with a minimum surface of 6.3 to 10 hectares is also presented and ready to be built from August.
“The concept is exactly the same as in Taruna Nusantara High School and later there are basic, junior high and secondary schools with 100 percent facilities financed by the state budget,” Robben explained.
During the pilot period, the government used a loan plan to use a building for a year. The building will be renovated and will be returned to the regional government in a good condition.
“Next year, God Willing, who is in the startup to move to a place built by the president,” he said.
People’s schools, he said, are designed with the system Boarding school Or boarding school. Students will undergo national formal education and strengthen character and digital literacy. People’s schools also receive training to prepare a golden generation.
“These children also receive skills training so that later in the 20 years, when they reach 2045, the target of Indonesia is gold,” said Robben.
This program is not only education, but also focuses on the economic empowerment of the family of students. His parents are also authorized with an empowerment program. In addition, uninhabitable houses of students of students will be repaired.
Support from the local government is crucial. So far there are 357 provinces, regency’s, cities that have joined the People’s School program, but some local authorities have not participated.

He said that the president initiated this program on the basis of the fact that the large number of children did not go to school in different regions. Data from the Central Statistics Agency shows that there are still 227 thousand primary school age children and are not at school.
Subsequently, the number to around 499 thousand children increased for the level of the Junior High School. About 3.4 million children in high school are unable to or have never been to school.
Robben emphasized that the most important obstacle is not in school costs, but other supporting costs, for example uniforms.
Based on the results of the national socio -economic survey, no less than 76 percent of the family recognized his child for economic reasons. The president also notes that this trend continues to rise at all education levels every year.
In response to this condition, Presidential Presidential Regulation No. 8 of 2025 issued to work together with regard to the optimization of poverty reduction and ordered all ministries, institutions and local authorities.
