PALEMBANG (Antara) – A total of 122 masters in the city of Palembang, South Sumatra, refused the cancellation of the S2 degree of the Palembang Cadre University (UKB) in the year 2021 and 2022.
The rejection was supplied by 122 Masters via the LBH Milky Way Legal Advisor Team in Palembang on Saturday.
The legal advisor team LBH Milky Way Conie said that the impact of the cancellation of the diploma did not play games.
Some alumni were reportedly forced to stop their S3 research because the S2 diploma needed for academic purposes was no longer recognized. There are also people who have not been appointed as the civil device of the State (ASN) because the diploma documents have problems, although they have passed on the selection process properly.
His party will take various legal and administrative steps for this incident. In addition to submitting official complaints to the Sumbagsel Region II Higher Education Service Institute (LLDikti), they also intend to write to the Huis van Reporting Commission X charged with education.
“We hope that this case can get serious attention from the authorities, because it concerns the fate and future of alumni. It cannot be a university that randomly withdraws someone’s academic rights without transparent and responsible procedures,” he said.

In the meantime, Palembang UKB -Rector Fika Minata Wathan said that all decisions of the campus had completed a series of processes and in accordance with legal regulations.
“Before the cancellation was made, I and the ranks had also invited graduates to be canceled by their diplomas to discuss directly, but at that time because many could not be present, the meeting was held through Zoom,” he said.
He explained that they did not fully understand the purpose of lectures. He claimed that only the test subjects were never taught the number of meetings or were not met according to the National Dikti Standard (SN-Dikti).
According to him, the time to repeat this lecture was also not in the time of lectures as usual. He gave an example of the lecture of a Master that was performed 4 semesters or 2 years, so the repetition of this course was tried to be completed in a deadline of 1 semester.
“Ekpt -Findings show that there are courses that have never been followed. This is not a lecture from the start, only the replacement is missing. This process can be completed in one semester,” he said.
