Jakarta (Antara) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto stated that the International Economic Forum of St. Petersburg (Spief) 2025, Russia, is a strategic space that brings world leaders together from the western, southern worldwide, east, to the Eraziatic region.
“Indonesia regards this forum as an important opportunity to build strategic confidence and to establish an agreement in the midst of an increasingly complex geopolitical world situation,” said Prabowo at the performance for his first time on the podium on Friday.
He said that the agreement that was built by Spief was expected to support survival and mutual success.
On that occasion, Pabowo also introduced himself as the new president of the Republic of Indonesia on October 20, 2024 and acknowledged that his presence on this forum was his first performance on the international stage.
“So please understand when I look a bit nervous,” he said, greeted with a smile.

In the speech, Pabowo also emphasized the major challenges with which the Indonesian people are confronted as the fourth largest population in the world.
He said that around five million new people were born in Indonesia every year – a number of equivalent to a population of one country such as Singapore.
“In ten years there will be ten new ‘Singapore’ in Southeast -Asia. I say this to illustrate how much Indonesia is,” he said.
The size of the population, according to the head of state, offered great opportunities and great responsibilities for a leader.
He emphasized the importance of the government’s strategy in answering the challenges of basic needs such as food, education and health services for millions of new citizens every year.
“The most urgent need is how you can feed five million new mouths every year. This is not a small thing,” he said.
