Jakarta (Antara) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) stated that in 2024 he was investigating a case of alleged corruption with regard to the special Hajj quotum.
“Yes, that’s right,” said the acting deputy for the task and performance of the KPK ASEP Guntur Rahayu when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said that the handling of the case was still in the investigation phase.
Earlier on 10 September 2024, the KPK revealed that it was ready to investigate accusations of tips with regard to filling in special Hajj quota in the implementation of Hajj 2024.
The KPK stated that the move was important to be taken, so that the government, namely the Ministry of Religion, could bring justice to the implementation of Hajj services without corruption.
On another occasion, the special committee (Pansus) of the Indonesian Parliament Hajj questionnaire claimed to find a number of irregularities that took place in the implementation of the 2024 Hajj.
The most important point of the special committee was emphasized about the division of the 50:50 quota in the allocation of 20,000 extra quota supplied by Saudi Arabia.
At that time, the Ministry of Religion distributed an extra quota of 10 thousand for regular Hajj and 10 thousand for special Hajj.
