Jakarta (Antara) – Russian President Vladimir Putin welcomed the official visit of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in the Palace of Konstantinovsky, Sint -Petersburg, Russia, and said to meet Prabowo in his hometown.
The procession of vehicles that President Pabowo wore arrived in the Palace of Constantovsky, Saint Petersburg, Russia, Thursday around 13.55 local time or 17.55 WIB, based on video shows that were viewed online via the YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Thursday.
Pabowo, who was wearing a matching black suit and a matching cap, was welcomed by President Putin who shook his hand and invited him to sit. The presence of Prabowo during the meeting was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and cabinet secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya.
“Your Majesty Mr. President, whom I respect. I am very happy to meet the president in Saint Petersburg,” said President Putin, who started his comments, who was delivered through the translator.
President Putin said he had met President Pabowo, who was then the elected president and the Minister of Defense while he was in Moscow.
Based on collected information, Pabowo and Putin held a meeting in the Kremlin Palace, Moscow, Russia in July 2024.
“We met in Moscow before the inauguration of the president last year,” Putin continued.
President Putin explained that President Pabowo would be the most important guest on the prestigious forum St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (Spief) 2025.
At the end of the conversation, Putin said “welcome” to Prabowo.

In the meantime, President Pabowo expressed his deep gratitude for such a good acceptance and the Indonesian government delegation.
“I want to express my thanks for this invitation, today and such a good acceptance, given to me and my delegation. I also thank you again before I was appointed, I was received last year and this was my official visit as President of the Republic of Indonesia,” said President Prabowo.
On Friday (6/20) President Pabowo was planned as one of the speakers in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (Spief) 2025.
This prestigious forum is a place to meet the leaders of the country and the stakeholders of the global economy.
“Mr. President will be invited to speak during the plenary session of St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2025, the ultimate a series of presidential visits to Russia,” said Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono.
