Wednesday BMKG: Alert rain was accompanied by wind in most Indonesian regions



Jakarta (Antara) – Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued early warnings in the form of light, moderate, dense, which can be accompanied by lightning and strong wind in various major cities in Indonesia.

Quoted from the official BMKG page in Jakarta, Wednesday, Sekar Anggraeni Prakirawan explained that in general the convergence area extended from the Makassar Strait to Central Kalimantan, from East Kalimantan to the Makassar Strait, from the Southwest Indian Ocean Banten to the southwest of Bengkulu in the Natuna Sea, from the Java Sea to the West Kalimantan.

This condition can increase the potential for the growth of rain clouds along the area assumed by convergence or conflicts.

That is why it predicted that several large cities would have the potential to experience moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by lightning and strong wind, including Bengkulu, Bandar Lampung, Tanjung Selor, Banjarmasin, Palu, Mamuju, Manado, Jayawijaya and Merauke.

In the meantime, several other large cities will experience light to moderate rain, namely Tanjung Pinang, Palembang, Serang, Bandung, Pontianak, Palangka Raya, Samarinda, Makassar, Gorontalo, Kendari, Ternate, Ambon, Manokwari, Nabire and Jayapura.

With regard to various other large cities, it is predicted that today they will only experience cloudy circumstances, including Medan, Banda Aeh, Pekanbaru, Jambi, Yogyakarta, Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Denpasar, Mataram and Kupang.

For predictions of seawater high in the Indonesian area, BMKG generally predicted in the range of 0.5 to 2.5 meters, while high waves up to 4 meters have the potential to perform around the waters of the South India Ocean Banten, West Nusa Tenggara and southern waters from Central Java to Bali.

It also appealed to the public to be aware of the potential of tides of flooding on the coast of Riau Islands, Central Java, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan and Maluku.
