Jakarta (Antara) – The panel of judges of the Corruption Court in the Central Jakarta District Court convicted 16 years in prison and a fine of RP1 billion in 6 months in prison for the former officer of the Supreme Court Zarof Ricar.

The jury stated that Zarof had proven that it concluded a bad agreement in the form of bribery when dealing with the case of convicted murder, Ronald Tannur. Moreover, it was also proven that Zarof received satisfaction.

It was thus proven that Zarof was proven that the article 6 paragraph (1) letter a or Article 5 of the paragraph (1) and Article 12 b Rumbling Article 15 Jo. Article 18 of the right number 31 of 1999 with regard to the extermination of corruption crime as amended by Act number 20 of 2001.

In the meantime, the mitigation of the Panel of judges had been considered, namely that the suspect had regretted his actions, had never been punished and still had family dependence.

The Panel of Judges decided not to impose a maximum prison sentence of 20 years, as demanded by the public prosecutor for considering various things.

According to the Panel of the judges, if sentenced to 20 years in prison, Zarof will serve the age of 83 because he is now 63 years old, while the average life expectancy in Indonesia is around 72 years old.

Moreover, the meeting is also of the opinion that Zarof Ricar has now been appointed a suspect in a case of alleged money white (TPPU) that is still being investigated by the office of the attorney general.

“It is therefore very possible that the suspect has been re -submitted in a new case,” he added.

Earlier, Zarof Ricar was accused of 20 years in prison and a fine of RP1 billion in 6 months in prison in the alleged bribery case of the handling of the case convicted for the murder case, Ronald Tannur, in 2024 at the cassation level, as well as alleged satisfaction in 2012-2022.

In addition, Zarof was also charged additional crimes in the form of seizure of goods used for or obtained from corruption, including Rupiah coupures, Singapore Dollars, on the Hong Kong dollar.

In this case, Zarof was accused of poor purchasing in the form of help to give the judge something or to promise that RP5 is billion.

The malignant processing is said to have been carried out with legal adviser Ronald Tannur, Lisa Rachmat, with the aim of bribing Soesilo of the Supreme Court, who was the chairman of the meeting at the continuation of the Ronald Tannur case at the Cassation level in 2024.

Moreover, he was accused of receiving tips worth RP915 billion and gold with a weight of 51 kilograms while he served in the Supreme Court to help the management of affairs in 2012-2022.
