Jakarta (Antara) – Russian ambassador in Indonesia Sergei Gennadiech Tolchenov expressed the willingness of his country to strengthen relations with Indonesia.
“Russia is ready to share its experiences and technology in the field of energy, agriculture, infrastructure and the use of peaceful nuclear energy with Indonesia,” Tolchenov said on the commemoration of the Statement Day of the Russian State of Russia day in Jakarta on Monday (16/6).
Since about 1950 until now, he said, Indonesia is still one of the most important partners of Russia in the Southeast Asian and Asia-Pacific regions.
For decades, the two countries have deepened cooperation relations in political, trade, defense, transport, energy, science and technology, education, culture, tourism and sport.
Tolchenov said that President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Russia and his participation in St.’s International Economic Forum will bring the 28th Petersburg bilateral partnerships to a real strategic level.
Russia will also continue to build a closer political, economic, social and cultural dialogue in the interest of the two countries, he said.
The coordinating Minister of Legal, Human Rights, Immigration and Indonesian Penitentiary Penitentiary Yusril Ihza Mahendra was present that represented the Indonesian government during the event.

He wishes Russian time and mentions that day a transforming moment in the history of the Russians.
“Today we are celebrating the spirit of sovereignty, resilience and unity of Russia. This historical day marks a transforming moment in the history of the nation and represents strong Russian dedication to determine his own destination, national progress and global involvement,” said Yusril.
He added that this year also had a special meaning because it marked Indonesian-Russian diplomatic relations for 75 years, which demonstrated the depth of friendship and eternal cooperation of the two countries.
The warning, said Yusril, is the proof of a strong foundation inaugurated by the two national leaders who initiated the relations of Indonesia with Russia and continued today.
“Today we respect this heritage and confirm our dedication to deepen our strategic partnership,” he said.
The commemoration of the Russian day was also attended by the coordinating minister for infrastructure and development of the region of Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono and the Minister of Indonesian Migrating Employee Protection (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding.
