Jakarta (Antara) -President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto called for a cease -the fire immediately about the armed conflict in Gaza and the escalation of tension between Israel and Iran.
The presidential secretariat in Jakarta said on Monday that this call was transferred to the Retreat Forum of leaders with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, as a form of the active attitude of Indonesia towards global peace.
“We emphasize the importance of peaceful regulation through negotiations and immediately call for a cease -the fire,” he said in his comments in Parliament House, Singapore.
President Pabowo emphasized that Indonesia considers a peaceful settlement by diplomatic and negotiations as the only way out of conflicts that civilian casualties continue to take in the middle.
“We express our deep concern about the situation in Gaza and the increasing conflict between Israel and Iran,” he said.
In addition to the problem of the Middle East, Prabowo also emphasized the political and humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.
He said that Indonesia and Singapore agreed to continue to encourage peaceful involvement in the country, in accordance with the Asean principle.
“As far as Myanmar is concerned, we agreed to continue to encourage involvement and arranging peace in the country,” he said.
