Jakarta (Antara) – Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital (Wamenkomigi), Nezar Patria, encourages young Indonesian professionals, students and technology communities in London to contribute to the future Artificial intelligence (Ai) Indonesia.
In the event entitled “Investing in Indonesia AI Future” on the Indonesian embassy (KBRI) in London, Nezar brought the message about that young Indonesian professionals, students and technological communities are paramount in this era of digitization.
“The ability to keep learning, to adapt to technological changes and develop soft skills, such as critical, creative and collaborative thinking, is your most important key to relevant and excellent in the future,” said Wamen Nezar in a press statement that was received in Jakarta on Sunday.

The event was a strategic platform to strengthen cooperation with the Indonesian diaspora and the technology community in the UK in an attempt to realize the ethical, inclusive and productive Indonesia was intelligence vision (AI).
VICE minister Nezar also explained the vision of Indonesia in the AI era, where AI is expected to be the most important engine of digital transformation for economic growth and reaching countries with a high income.
“The National AI Road Map will be a critical basis for a strong basis and ready to face the future, to guide the development and use of AI that is ethically, including and productive in all sectors,” Wamenkomigi said.

Vice minister Nezar emphasized various AI opportunities in Indonesia, including geographical, linguistic, cultural and socio-economic diversity that opened opportunities for the development of multi-language NLP and AI-based AI solutions.
Moreover, Indonesia also has a young population that is growing rapidly and digitally literate, as well as a strategic global position as a bridge between the north and the south in AI diplomacy.
VICE minister Nezar also explained the ministry’s strategy to prepare the Indonesian Human Resources for the future of work in the AI era.

“The government focuses on quantity to meet the increased demand for talents and digital, as well as quality to ensure that our staff is competitive on the world stage,” explains Wamen Nezar.
With regard to the adaptive technological regulation approach, Vice -Minister Nezar emphasized the focus of Indonesia on the balance between encouraging innovation, while a strong ethical basis for AI is guaranteed.
This approach includes the determination of clear and strong most important principles to guarantee legal certainty, prevent multiple compliance and to facilitate innovation.
Moreover, Indonesia also goes beyond traditional regulations by exploring various technological administrative devices, such as soft guidelines, frameworks and sandboxes.
