Jakarta (Antara) – Coach Mauricio Pochettino of the United States called himself “Not a Doll” when he was asked for his comments about one of his players, Christian Pulisic who refused to play for the national team on the Concacaf 2025 Gold Cup.
“If he performs well and he is the best, he will of course get a place in the national team,” said Pochettino, quoted from AFP on Sunday.
“Not because of a player (says):” I want to play. ” “I want this.” “I want that.” I signed a contract with a federation and I am a head coach, I am not a pop, “he added.

This comment was said by Pochettino to show that he had the highest authority in the national team of the United States. That he cannot be regulated, also by Pulisic, the team captain.
Pulisic chose to be absent in the Golden Cup, but he still wanted to strengthen the US in two friendly matches against Türkiye and Switzerland, who ended up in the defeat a few days ago.
The reason Pulisic was absent at the Gold Cup was that he wanted to rest because he had undergone a busy schedule for the past two years.
However, Pulisic’s wish was rejected by Pochettino because he did not want the 26 -year -old wing attacker to regret when he wanted and did not play for his country.
