Ankara (Antara) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan transferred US President Donald Trump to a telephone conversation that Türkiye supported the American attitude with regard to the importance of continuous nuclear negotiations with Iran.
According to a statement from the Turkish president’s office on Saturday (6/14), Erdogan stated during the telephone conversation that Turkey actively monitored the tension between Israel and Iran and considered nuclear negotiations as the only way to resolve conflicts.
“President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump … In this context, the president said that Ankara supported the American position with regard to the need to continue nuclear negotiations to complete the dispute,” said the statement.
Erdogan also stated the willingness of Türkiye to perform all the possibilities to prevent the escalation of uncontrolled tension in the middle east area, the explanation continued.
Earlier, on Friday (6/13), Turkish Foreign Minister Hakkan Fidan thought that prioritizing nuclear negotiations with Iran was the only suitable way to resolve conflicts.
“We should not let the increase in tensions in our region distracted from genocide in Gaza,” Fidan wrote in X.
“Promoting the nuclear negotiation process initiated by US President Trump is the only way to resolve conflicts arising from nuclear disputes. Diplomacy is the only alternative to war,” he added.
The Turkish Foreign Minister added that his country had taken the security measures at the highest level in response to risks from Israeli attacks on Iran.
