The average corn that we plant in Indonesia is corn food, and God prepared, we need a lot of feed maize and we have ensured that it will not be imported this year.
Bantul (Antara) – The Directorate General of Food Plashes of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) ensures that the Indonesian government does not import corn for animal nutrition in 2025, because the needs of this raw material can be met from domestic production.
“On average, the corn we plant in Indonesia is corn food, and God wants us to need a lot of corn food and we have ensured that this year is not importing,” said Food Wash Director of the Ministry of Agriculture Yudi Sastro, after the corn harvest movement, in Bantul Regency, SPECIAL OF YOGYAKARTA.
The certainty of not importing corn food is also supported by the National Police Synergy Program together with the Ministry of Agriculture and the government in reaching a million hectare of corn crops, one of which is in the Klaras, Canen, Bantul regions that were harvested this time.
Director -General Yudi said that the national nutritional maize firms were safe, although his party did not remember how exactly the number of corn stocks, but there was a doubled production and rice production.
“Even yesterday it started with exporting cooperation with the National Police, which we also export in West -Kalimantan via Surabaya and via NTB (West Nusa Tenggara), and Gorontalo another,” he said.
He said, for the need for animal feeds of the maize commodity about 15 million tonnes each year, the government’s goal is this year between 16 million to 17 million tonnes of corn.
“So we ensure that we do not have to import for corn food. What still imports is food maize, but we also export power -racing food maize, so the added value we get is also higher,” he said.
So, he said again, the program in the realization of national self -supply of food, one of which will be expanded by planting a million hectares of corn in the future, involving various institutions and related ministries.
“Of course, because self -provision is not only the responsibility of one ministry, but all, now that the TNI with rice, the national police with corn, then the regional government with everything, so together with us, a vision of a step, God wants that,” he said.
