Jakarta (Antara) – The Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) informs Mount Raung on the border between East Java again and is again experiencing another eruption on Friday evening, on 22.29 WIB.
The center for volcanology and geological disaster restriction (PVMBG) via Raung Benny Seyawan volcano -observer in Jakarta, said that the height of the Askolom was followed to reach approximately 1,000 meters above the mountain top, or approximately 4,332 meters above sea level.
“The gray eruption column with moderate intensity leads to the south and southwestern sides. When this report was published, the eruption activity was still underway,” he said.

He appealed to the community and tourists not to approach the Puncak crater area in a radius of three kilometers. Moreover, the community was also asked not to go into the Caldera or at night in the crater area to prevent the potential dangers of active volcanic activity.
The authorities continue to follow the development of eruption and are ready to take further action if the activity of Mount Raung increases.

Until now, Mount Raung is at the level II status (Waspada), so that the PVMBG recommendation asks the public and visitors/tourists not to approach the outburst center in the Puncak Crater with a radius of 3 km and the Kaldera and spend the night in the crater area.
Earlier the head of the geological freedom of choice of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Muhammad Wafid in a written statement said that the seismicity of Mount Raung was dominated during the first week of June 2025 by a gust of earthquakes, with the number of events between three to 10 times a day.

Moreover, one of the volcanic earthquakes is in and four times the continuous tremor with a dominant amplitude of one millimeter.
“The outbursts are expected to come from shallow depths and limited gray distribution around the crater and the northeastern sector. The activity level remains relevant at level II or alert,” he said.
