Sean brings United Autosports 95 start from seven positions in Le Mans

Convincing performance was shown by Sean with two of his colleagues, Marino Sato and Darren Leung, since the 3rd Free Training Session (FP3) that was held on Circuit de la Sarthe, France, Thursday (12/6) local time.

They first penetrated the top 10 or were in ninth position with a record time of 3 minutes 57,040 seconds.

“From FP3 we started to feel comfortable with the car and the rhythm. That is an important capital for the Hyperpole session,” Sean said on Friday in his written statement.

The tension occurs in the Hyperpole 1 (H1) session when Sean immediately scored an impressive time 3 minutes 54,670 seconds.

However, the time record was not recognized because the red flag was hoisted after the Corse 54 car was powered by Francesco Castelacci slid into the gravel.

“It seems that the session stopped a second faster. Although my time was promising, I might be able to finish P3 or P4,” he said.

After the session had continued, Sean had time to improve the first sector, but the car experienced the engine dead on the straight track Mulsanne.

He managed to breathe new life into the engine on time and registered 3 minutes 55.186 seconds, enough to bring the United Autosports 95 to the eighth position, the deadline for qualifying H2.

“It really feels like you are driving on a roller coaster! Really tense, but we are grateful that we can continue,” Sean said.

In the Hyperpole 2 session it was Marino Sato’s turn to drop as a racer. He registered a time of 3 minutes 55,965 seconds and placed the United Autosports 95 in the seventh starting position for the main races 24 hours of Le Mans.

In the meantime, the position of pole position in the LMGT3 class was won by the heart of racing team 27 via Mattia Racer Drudi, which placed the fastest time of 3 minutes 52,789 seconds.

The 24 hours of Le Mans -Race will take place from Saturday (6/14) at 9:00 WIB.
