Jakarta (Antara) – Cabinet secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said that the construction of Gigantic Seawaard or Gigantic Zeedijk became the most vital infrastructure to protect the north coast of Java against the threat of Rob and extreme climate change.
Seskab Teddy explained that President Prabowo Subianto had emphasized the government’s dedication to immediately start a seawall as a national strategic project.
“Gigantic sea wall or North Pantal Sea -Dijk from Java is one of the most vital infrastructure to protect the north coast of Java against Rob and extreme climate changes,” said Seskab Teddy in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday (12/6) Night.
Seskab explained that the Giant Sea Wall project had actually been included in the National Planning Agency Planning since 1995.

The Gigantic Zeedijk will be built to stretch up to 500 kilometers from Banten to Gresik, Oost -Java, with the first phase of construction in the Jakarta Bay Area that takes an estimated eight to 10 years.
In his comments when closing the International Infrastructure Conference Forum in 2025, which was attended by more than 7,000 people from 33 countries, the president explained that the construction of a gigantic seawall lasted up to 20 years.
“If it reaches East Java, it can take 20 years. Fifteen to twenty years. There is no problem. There is an old saying” 1,000 kilometers of journey starts with one step. “We will start immediately,” said Prabowo.
The construction of the mega project requires a reimbursement of at least 80 billion US dollars or equivalent to RP1.297 trillion.
Specifically De Dijk in Jakarta Bay, the government needs a budget assignment through the provincial government of DKI Jakarta APBD from 8 billion to $ 10 billion.
