… President Pabowo is the first president in Indonesia to have a priority program and is very ambitious in relieving diseases
Jakarta (Antara) – The government has assigned a budget of RP4.7 trillion or nearly 300 million US dollars to finance the free Health Check Program (CKG) that was launched by President Prabowo Subianto.
The spokesperson for the Presidential Communication Office (PCO), Prita Laura in an online press conference agenda in Jakarta, said that this figure was one of the greatest allocation of government funds in the world to provide preventive services that touched all the levels of society.
“President Pabowo is the first president in Indonesia to have a priority program and is very ambitious about illuminating diseases,” he said.
He said that the CKG program in Indonesia was one of the largest in the world, because it reached 280 million Indonesians in 5 years, starting with 60 million people in the first year.
He said that the amount of the budget shows that this program is not only a basic service, but a national policy priority that is equal to large programs in a number of developed countries.

“This program has received a budget assignment support from RP4.7 trillion or nearly 300 million US dollars,” he said.
The budget assignment is the same as the operational budget of public transport in various developed countries.
“That is, this CKG is an extraordinary priority of the government,” said Prita.
Moreover, he compared the Indonesian CKG schedule with other countries. In Japan, routine health controls are required for employees every year.
While comparable programs in the UK only apply to residents aged 40 to 74 who are limited to early detection of heart conditions, stroke, diabetes and dementia.

But in Indonesia, said Prita, this free medical examination applies to all Indonesian citizens without age limits, including various diseases such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, to dental and oral problems.
“We are even more progressive. In Indonesia, CKG is open to everyone, without age limit or labor status. This reflects constitutional law and coordination of all people,” said Prita.
The government also emphasized that this budget is an investment in the long term that will reduce the economic burden of the country as a result of non -transferable diseases, such as kidney failure, which is known to suck more than RP2 Biljoen APBN per year of the National Health Insurance Budget (JKN).

“Not to mention the fact that we calculate the costs arising from lost productivity due to premature death and disability, and the economic burden of the family as a result of long -term treatment burden,” he said.
With the active participation of local governments and health facilities at the first level such as Puskesmas, the government is optimistic that CKG will be an important basis for building a healthy generation in the direction of the vision of Indonesia EMAS 2045.
