Pabowo received a phone call from US President Donald Trump



Jakarta (Antara) – President Pabowo Subianto received a phone call from US President Donald Trump as announced by President Pabowo in Jakarta, start on Friday.

In his personal Instagram Social Media account @Probowo, the president has not provided any other information from the telephone connection, including the content of his conversation with President Trump.

“Today I received a telephone connection from the President of the United States, Donald Trump,” said Prabowo in his upload, starting on Friday around 1 am.

In the same upload there was one photo that showed the moment of President Pabowo when receiving a phone call from President Trump. Fortunately, the face of President Pabowo’s face was seen when he received the call.

Until now, the Indonesian presidential spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi and cabinet secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya have not given an explanation about the content of the discussion about President Pabowo and President Trump.

Both spoke the last time by telephone in November 2024, when President Pabowo visited the US to meet Joe Biden, who was then president at that time.

At the time, Prabowo called Trump to congratulate his victory in the elections, so that he was elected as American president.

Both talked for 2 minutes 50 seconds. In the conversation, President Pabowo had expressed his wish to meet Trump.

In the meantime, President Trump also praised Pabowo, especially related to the work of President Pabowo. Trump then expressed his desire to come to Indonesia.

Indonesia and the US have established diplomatic relations since 1949 and this year two countries commemorate the 76 years of these relationships.

Two countries have close cooperation in various sectors, including the economy, trade, education, culture and defense.

President Trump’s newest import policy for a number of countries, including Indonesia,, however, has drawn into the spotlight. The US government has set a mutual import rate for Indonesia by 32 percent. The rate is added with the basic import rates that the US charges all countries by 10 percent.

President Pabowo has sent his envoy to the US for tariff negotiations. The team was led by the coordinating Minister of the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.
