Jakarta (Antara) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the extraordinary natural wealth of Indonesia should be cleverly managed to offer maximum benefits for people.
“Our wealth is extraordinary, but I am also aware that we should be more brutal, better at managing the wealth,” said Prabowo in his comments during the final ceremony of the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) 2025 at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday.
Pabowo said that the unity of the nation (UN) had predicted various global crises, such as food, energy and water.
However, the president was of the opinion that Indonesia was in a relatively profitable position because it had large and fertile soil, sufficient availability of water and natural resources spread on land and sea.
Nevertheless, Pabowo saw that the wealth was not optimally fully managed.
The head of state acknowledged that there were still many resources that were not directly enjoyed by the community.
“We have to dare to say what it is. The lack of Indonesia is that we are less sturdy, less brave, lack of discipline, less difficult to preserve our wealth. Too many Indonesia’s wealth does not reach the people of Indonesia,” the president said.
The president further said that his government would give priority to efficiency and savings in managing the state budget.
This step is intended to send investments to important sectors such as food and energy. The president said he had seen positive indications of the policy that has been implemented in recent months.
“What I want to secure is the source of Indonesian food and the energy source and thank goodness are the signs clearly before our eyes with our policy in recent months,”. Said Pabowo.
On that occasion, Pabowo also emphasized the importance of cooperation between national elements and resource management as a key in entering into national development challenges.
“We are not afraid of obstacles, we are not afraid of difficulties, we are not afraid of threats, we will face these difficulties, we will be confronted quickly and we will find solutions quickly and we will do,” he said.
