Jember, East Java (Antara) – Mount Raung, on the border of Jember, Bondowoso and Banyuwangi, Oost -Java, has been registered five times on an eruption with an eruption as high as 1,000 meters above peak on Thursday morning.
The first eruption took place at 00.55 WIB with the height of the eruption column that was observed about 1,000 meters above peak or 4,332 meters above sea level (MDPL). The ash column was observed as white to gray with moderate intensity south, southwest and west.
“Mount Raung returned to the eruption on 02.05 WIB with the height of the eruption column that was observed about 1,000 meters above peak and the Askolom was observed as gray to thick intensity in the southeast. When the report was made, the eruption was still in a written post in Jangjo.

The third eruption took place at 03.00 CIR with the height of the eruption column that was observed about 1,000 meters above peak and the Ash Column was observed as white to gray with moderate intensity in the southeast.
The mountain that has a height of 3,332 meters above sea level is again the eruption at 4.30 am with the height of the eruption column that is observed approximately 1,000 meters above peak and the Sace Column is observed as white to gray with average intensity in the southeast.
“The fifth eruption took place at 04.41 WIB with the height of the eruption column that was observed about 1,000 meters above the peak or 4,332 meters. The Askolom was observed white to gray with moderate intensity in the south. When the report was made, the eruption was still underway,” he said.

In recent days, Mount Raung has been eruption almost every day with a height of varying eruptions from 400 meters to 1,000 meters above the peak that has an impact on the fall of thin rain in a number of areas according to the direction of the wind.
Mount Raung is on level II -Status (Waspada), so the volcanology and the geological disaster limitation center (PVMBG) gives recommendations so that the community and visitors/tourists do not approach the eruption center in the Puncak -Krater with a radius of three kilometers and spend the night in the tap area.
