Jakarta (Antara) – The Ministry of Transport is investigating the Use Plan project Skytrain that connects the South Tangerang and Bogor regions as the feeder mode (Feeder) To support mass transport networks such as Jakarta Mar and Jabodebek LRT.
“There is indeed a plan to make it like the MRT, but the system tries to evaluate,” Vice -Minister of Transport (Wamenhub) Suntana was satisfied during the International Conference on Infrastructure (ICI) 2025 event in Jakarta, Wednesday (11/6).
The vice minister said that the assessment is currently the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) started to determine the form Feeder Suitable, one of which is an option to use a cable car (Skytrain) as a solution.
“We use ded, there are people who use trains above, such as the MRT, there will also be something below, depending on the willingness of the country. Including this technology is only used as a hanging train,” he said.
According to him, the development of new transport methods such as cable cars is also evaluated because it can be an efficient solution, cost -effective and minimal disruption of the closed urban environment
“Later we will see the efficient that it does not cost too expensive and the most important thing is the willingness of the country, the environment does not harm. Well, we will study it,” he explained.
Suntana explained that the selection of transport, both the upper, underground and hanging routes, will be determined from the cost efficiency and availability of land along the planned path.

In addition to encouraging the transition from the community to public transport, he hopes that the project will also be able to reduce congestion and improve the air quality in the Jakarta and the surrounding areas
“This is so that people are interested in using public transport facilities, so that the congestion will slowly decrease because people have switched to mass transport,” he explained
Moreover, with less public transport, he said, air pollution in Jakarta will be even better.
He said that the most important focus of the public transport development plan was to meet the connectivity needs of the Jonggol, East Bogor, to Cibubur and BSD regions to Lebak Bulus.
“Later it will be connected to transport facilities that have been built,” said Suntana.
It is also said that the development is not only limited to the MRT mode, but all options remain open as long as they are efficient and support the integration of existing intermoda.
“All possibilities can be done, both Mar and LRT,” he said.
The vice -minister continued: “The regional government of Jakarta, West -Java, now Friends of the provincial government want to build mass transport facilities, trains and others again.
