Jakarta (Antara) – The Ministry of Environment (KLH) stopped the operation of two tire processing and used battery melt factory in Bekasi Regency, West Java because they had no approval of the environment and have contributed to air pollution.
“We have decided to close the total activity when imposing a potentially environmental indication process. So we are therefore operationalized when this seal of all these areas and we are not allowed to be operationalized until the legal process is completed,” said the Minister of the Environment (LH)/head of the Environmental Office (BPLH) Hanif Faisol.
Hanif said that the activities at both locations contributed to the decrease in air quality in the larger Jakarta area. Specifically emphasize that companies that perform tire processing and batteries are included in the Dangerous and toxic Waste category (B3).

In the review he did not see the combustion facilities equipped with collector’s gas and facilities for handling exhaust gas.
“It is therefore certain that this activity seriously contributes to the execution of air pollution in jabodeta beak. We are determined to close the total area because there is no approval of the environment,” Hanif explained.
He ensured that the representative for law enforcement (Gakkum) KLH would carry out a floor with regard to the B3 waste source managed by the tire and battery processing company used, anticipating whether there were potential violations in the distribution chain.
He said that he would continue to comb the Jabodetabek area to find a source of pollutants that caused a decrease in air quality in jabodeta beak.
Approaching of supervision and coaching, to the steps of law enforcement, including the dismissal of temporary operations to criminal potential.
