JAKARTA (ANTARA) – Plaatsvervangend minister van Communicatie en Digital (WamenKomdigi) Nezar Patria hield een bilaterale ontmoeting met de directeur -generaal digitale en telecommunicatietechnologie in de afdeling wetenschappen, innovatie en technologie (DSIT) Engeland Emran Mian om de versterking van de samenwerking van de kunstmatige intelligentie (AI) tussen RI en Britain te bespreken.
The meeting became a room for the two countries to share the best experiences and practices with regard to the development of technology that took place in the London Tech Week 2025 event in the UK, Tuesday (10/6) local time.
“This meeting is very valuable to disrupt and learn from the British experience in developing advanced digital ecosystems, especially in the field of AI,” said Nezar Patria in a press statement that was received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The most important focus of the discussion includes the development of strong AI infrastructure, the development of competent digital talents and the preparation of adaptive regulatory frameworks to offer safe, ethical and maximum benefits for the community.

“We are committed to strengthening mutually affordable cooperation, especially when faceing AI challenges and opportunities in the future,” said Nezar.
During the meeting, the delegation of British and Indonesia shared the experiences and priority programs of each country in the development of AI ecosystems.
One of them is related to digital infrastructure for AI, the British delegation has stated that he has invested more than 1 billion euros for four years, for AI Computing Research and the construction of large -scale data centers.
While Indonesia prioritizes in the same case to the construction of data centers, AI chips and increasing the computing power by cross -sector cooperation.

Another program that is no less important is related to the development of digital talents. Indonesia said he kept training and lessons to practice HR skills, so that in 2030 they could reach the target of 9 million digital talents.
While the British also shared that they also had a similar program that was expanded, ranging from promoting the interest from school children to technology, financing the Masters and PhD programs, to training for existing employees to adapt to changes in work because of AI.
The two delegations of each country also agreed that the safety and ethics of AI are also important to ensure that the ecosystem grows positively.
That is why the two countries corresponded to the importance of a strong AI board framework to guarantee the safety and implementation of the correct AI ethics.

Indonesia has issued a ministerial circular on AI ethics and is preparing a more extensive AI regulation.
While Great -Britain, via the AI Security Institute (AI Security Institute), tries to investigate the scientific understanding of advanced AI risk and share this finding internationally, including via international AI security reports in which panel members from different countries, including Indonesia, are involved.
The discussion also emphasized the AI adoption speed in Indonesia, which was very aggressive, with 80 percent of the condition that the public AI saw to offer benefits.
However, this speed also entails the risk of disruption, especially in the media and temporary employment sectors, as well as the potential abuse of AI for dangerous wrong information and content.

“We are aware of the rapid approval of AI in Indonesia. That is why cooperation with England is very important to learn how to balance innovation with risk reduction, especially related to social disruption and the spread of negative content,” said Wamen Nezar.
Indonesia emphasized the open approach to the use of AI models from different countries, as long as it is in accordance with national regulations and values.
Both parties agreed to continue to deepen cooperation, including the exploration of joint initiatives to bring together talents and innovators from Great Britain and Indonesia.
This visit means an important step in strengthening bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and the British in the field of AI.
It is hoped that this collaboration will create an AI ecosystem that is sustainable, safe and offers maximum benefits for the people of the two countries.
