Yogyakarta (Antara) – The special region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has established 275 students as participants in the first generation of the High School School (SR) for high school for the 2025/2026 school year.
Head of the Social Service (DINNHOOS) DIY Endang Patmintarsih, when contacted in Yogyakarta, said that SR is currently in DIY at two locations, namely in Sonosewu, Bantul and Purwomartani, Sleman.
“What we set was 200 students in Sonosewu and 75 students in Purwomartani. Just wait for the process of determining the Doe -the -self -governor in the form of a decree, then we immediately announced it,” Endang said.
According to him, the number was chosen from a total of around 700 registrants who had gone through selection on the basis of the socio -economic status and the use of children and parents to follow the entry education model.
The SR program, Endang said, is aimed at extreme poor groups, with the most important requirements for participants, including in Desil 1 or 2 in the integrated social welfare data (DTKs).

Endang acknowledged that some of the potential participants who were originally explained had finally resigned because they chose or declared another school that they were not willing to live in the dormitory.
Until now he noted that no fewer than 26 potential students stated that they were voluntarily resigned, although they had previously explained the first obligation.
“It turns out that many also resign from the main reason why they don’t want that, the point is that. Although they are committed, parents also encourage and their children were satisfied,” he said.
Endang claimed that the SR program not only offered free access to education, but also a long -term strategy part to break through the intergenerational poverty chain in the Doe -the -it itself.

Through the dormitory system, he continued, students will receive character education and life skills (life skills) who are willing to face the world of work or to continue their studies.
“They can come from poor families, but cannot be poor mentally. In this SR is what will be formed the mentality of strong people, mentally people who want to succeed. Hopefully they can increase the extent of their families,” he said.
He added that SR participants from all districts and cities came to do -the -themselves.
In support of the implementation of the program, according to Endang, the central government has also facilitated building rehabilitation and assigned teachers who were coordinated by the Ministry of Elementary and Sundial Education.
DinNOS DIY focuses on the SR High School level to officially start at the beginning of July 2025, together with the change in a new school year.
“Start in July, God wants, all clard,” Endang said.
