Jakarta (Antara) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto hopes that Defense University (Unhan) can create frameworks that not only contribute to defense, but also become the leader of the nation in the future.
“Education is so important and I hope that this Defense University creates frameworks, not only for defense, but also for the nation,” said Pabowo in the inauguration of the Bhinneka Tunggal IKA Campus, RI Defense University, Citureeup, Bogor, West Java, Wednesday.
The president linked his experience during a visit to the Military Academy of the United States in the United States, where the Academy had the goal of producing leaders for the United States, not just for military institutions.
Pabowo hopes that the University of Defense and other educational institutions in Indonesia can also contribute to the progress of the nation in various areas.
“So that’s what we expect, Unhan and all educational institutions will work, dedicated to every state and nation in every area,” he said.
The president also emphasized the importance of commanding science in the field of science and technology to meet the challenges of the modern world.
“Only with science and technology can we eliminate poverty, we can become a developed country, a modern country,” said the head of state.
Regarding the ranks of the leadership of Defense Universities, the president said that the institution creates a new culture that prioritizes the values of patriotism.
Pabowo emphasized the importance of courage in taking up challenges and willingness to recognize the shortcomings and weaknesses as the first step to resolve it.
“That is what we expect, that is a characteristic of a good leader. Never be afraid of difficulties, never be afraid to recognize our weaknesses. Recognizing weaknesses means that we will overcome weaknesses,” concluded Pabowo.
The campus of Defense University was built in the field of Defense University with an area of 18.3 hectares and various facilities have been built, namely laboratories, classrooms, male and female dorms and water treatment systems.
In addition, the rectorate building, the dormitory, library, workplace, modern dormitory, modern green space, hertermination ponds and housing facilities for teacher.
This campus development is in accordance with national interests to improve quality National building And the development of Indonesian Human Resource.
