Manchester City officially announced the transfer of Tijjani Reijnders of AC Milan



Jakarta (Antara) – Manchester City officially announced this summer the recruitment of the Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijners from AC Milan on the transfer market.

“Manchester City is happy to announce the recruitment of Tijjani Reijnders with a five -year contract,” said Manchester City on the official website on Wednesday.

The 26 -year -old player will soon participate in the prescription training with Pep Guardiola’s team.

After he was officially introduced, the player with Maluku blood said that he was enthusiastic to become a member of City.

“I am very happy to be part of Manchester City. This is one of the largest clubs in the world, with the best coach, players of world class and extraordinary facilities,” Tijjani said.

Eliano Reijnders also said that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of the greatest Dutch players who had played in the English competition.

“I really want to play quickly, meet other players and show fans of Manchester City what I can do,” he said.

Reijnders became one of the names that stole attention in European football thanks to his impressive performance with AC Milan since he came to 2023 from AZ Alkmaar.

The midfielder of the box-to-box is known as a sharp vision of playing, accurate bullet distribution and high mobility in midfield.

In the last two seasons in the Italian League, Reijnders registered more than 70 performances, scored nine goals and contributed 13 assists.

He also became the key figure on the journey of AC Milan to reach the Champions League Semifinals 2023/24. His consistent appearance did him familiar to be part of the Dutch national team and performed in the European Cup (Euro) 2024, where he helped the Dutch to reach the quarterfinals.

The presence of Reijnders in the Etihad Stadium is expected to offer extra depth for the midfield of Manchester City that was previously inhabited by big names such as Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne and Mateo Kovacic.

City hopes that Reijnders can be an important part of the club’s efforts to defend the English competition and to compete again in the Champions League next season.
