Entrepreneurship in Spain continues to take recovery steps after the last crisis. In the past six months, the number of independent employees with 29,000 people increased almost 1% compared to the same period of 2018, according to the data from the Active Population Survey.
In annual terms, labor data is considerably better in their own account of the second quarter of 2019 than that of 2018. In the first six months, however, there are 8,000 free employers and 3,300 entrepreneurs without employees.
Despite the good progress of the economy, entrepreneurship is still stopped by bureaucracy and lack of investments. The European technological ecosystem is increasingly taking shape and business unicorns, companies with a value of more than 1,000 million dollars, are increasingly common. In the meantime, Spain has stopped growth in recent years.
Barcelona and Madrid continue as the entrepreneurial centers, the last with 312,000 SMEs companies that contribute to the establishment of more than 8.5 million jobs. However, digitization has taken a turn of 180 degrees in the business models of Spanish companies.
The capital has been launched to stimulate entrepreneurship in the city, although the commissioning with the first meetings will be “from autumn”, says Angel Niño, delegated councilor for entrepreneurship, innovation and employment of the Madrid city council, to this newspaper.
Three out of ten potential entrepreneurs will never be for administrative obstacles, according to data from the Association of Autonomous Workers (ATA). The New Madrid town hall has unanimously approved the establishment of the Autonomous Council in the capital and in September the next step will take place with the establishment of the Council of Small and Medium -sized Enterprises.
On this forum it will be represented “all political groups of the city council, representatives of the community and the state administration, and various autonomous associations, as well as experts in the field,” a child adds.
“We want to be administrators of dialogue and a strategy that enables us, together with citizens and companies, the important challenges that we have to be confronted with in the coming years,” he says.
The agency will work on interest in entrepreneurs who will make contact with the rest of the state administrations and encourage the impetus of policy measures that support the development and promotion of entrepreneurship in the city of Madrid.
