Jakarta (Antara) – Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal did not claim to exclude the possibility that the special committee (Pansus) of the Indonesian parliament would be formed to evaluate the performance of the Hajj in 2025.
He also admitted that he was still revising the proposal for the formation of the special committee, because it had to be based on in -depth considerations based on law number 8 of 2019 with regard to the implementation of Hajj and Umrah.
“The special committee was formed for deepening or investigations into violations committed by the government. As in 2024, the special committee was formed for a violation,” Cucun said in his written statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He explained that in 2024 the Ministry of Religion reportedly violated the provisions of the law that stated that the extra quota of the Saudi Arab Government could only get 8 percent for special Hajj. But in reality, the additional quota distribution is not in accordance with the applicable regulations.
For this reason, he said that the option to form the special committee was still open. However, this will be determined after the Indonesian parliament Hajj Timwas has provided the supervision of the aspects of services, management and regulatory compliance.
Moreover, according to him, the special committee can also be formed if an indication is found that requires the role of law enforcement officials. In this way, the process of forming a special committee must also include relevant committees, such as Commission III of the Indonesian parliament
“We will see later whether it is enough via Panja or there are violations that need to be followed through the special committee. If so, this can be presented by Cross member and Cross equipment,” said the chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Hajj Supervisory Team.
