After months of negotiations, Laliga, the Federation and the AFE Union have agreed missing urgency and the calendar for next season. As expected, the competition starts in the weekend of 15 to 17 August, both in the first and the second, although it is possible to postpone the Real Madrid and Atlético matches in case they reach the final phase of the Club World Cup that is held from 14 June to 13 July. The last competition day will be played on 24 May in the highest category and 31 in the Silver Division.
The reservation that must be done with the two representatives of Spanish football in that World Cup format that opens in the United States is motivated by the collective agreement signed between the employer and the Union. There is the right of the players to enjoy at least 21 days of vacations in a row as soon as the current season is over. And in no case can the holiday period be replaced by financial compensation. That is, if Real Madrid or Atlético arrived at the final of the World Cup final, their players would not return at least until August 4.
The biggest problem can come with the preseason, because the deadlines are very short and the players need a period to get a good tone after the summer holidays. Anyway, the tours by clubs and the economy have long been imposed, and that trainers and physical trainers do not have those three or four weeks of physical work that is advised to prevent injuries.
The lottery to indicate that the calendar will take place at the end of this month. It will be asymmetrical again, not coinciding with the order and competitions of every day of the first round with those of the second. The main objective of this model is to be able to meet a larger number of conditions with regard to security, European competitions, works, festivities, events and events, to maximize the presence in stadiums and audiovisual public.
Laliga has announced that the Christmas holiday will be maintained and that there will therefore be no football from December 21 to January 4. First, three Intersemanal days will have, still to be defined, for only one in second place. There will be four stops for the commitments of the selections, qualifications for the World Cup of 2026, before the club course is completed: from Monday 1 to Tuesday 9 September from 6 to 14 October, from 10 to 18 November and finally from 23 March to 31 March next year.
