Jakarta (Antara) -Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbudistek) for the Nadiem Anwar Makarim period 2019-2024 emphasized that the purchasing of Chromebook -Laptops is not a stagnant program because 97 percent of the laptops was received by the school.
He explained that 97 percent of the laptops had been received by 77 thousand schools in 2023, with the schools of the recipient, it was confirmed that they were active and registered.
“The information I received at that time in 2023 was 97% of the laptop given to 77 thousand schools, it was (school) active, accepted and registered. And we regularly did the census,” Nadiem said on Tuesday during a press conference in South Jakarta.
He also explained that the purchase of Chromebook -Laptops had also completed a periodic evaluation and monitoring process.

In 2023, for example, Nadiem said that his party had even given questions to schools that received laptops.
The explanation, he said, wants to determine whether the laptop is used for the learning process.
As a result, he said that about 82 percent of the school replied that the laptop was indeed used for the learning process, not just for national assessments or school administration.
“So the information I get is felt the use and benefits of this Chromebook at schools and are used for different learning processes,” Nadiem added.
The Nadiem statement was to respond to researchers who were related to the youth processor-general for special crimes (Jampids) of the office of the attorney general who investigated the alleged corruption case when purchasing digitization of education in the form of Chromebook laptops in 2019-202.
