“Miss Ceder’s Secret” of Mats-Eric Nilsson

‘Cold the strangest of the war Spy imagine: “The publisher calls out about the cover of the book. Well. Jan Lodin Looking for the Minister of Defense to report that Lodin’s inherent, a precarious former journalist at the Northern Flame by name Fritiof EnbomIs Soviet spy. During an alcohol -grown Christmas dinner, Enbom Crying announced that he is the head of “Group North” and that under the shawn name “Mikael” he mapped the Swedish defenses in Norrbotten so detailed so detailed that the Russians can only walk through the county: “Twenty Botanical mothers will be my name!”

The Minister of Defense submits the case to the police who take the former Enbom mistress Lilian Cedar for interrogation. Fritiof Enbom itself will be arrested on 11 February and immediately removes a detailed and very colorful confession. From the point of view of the public prosecutor it was almost too good to be true. And it wasn’t.

Fritiof Enbom lied around Most of them. He had never participated in the Spanish Civil War. He had never been to Tahiti. He had not left the secret of the atomic bomb to the Russians. He had not kidnapped a Finnish agent in front of his crying woman and brought him to a safe death in the Soviet Union. And the small writing agency of Lilian Ceder on Arti weretigatan was not a powerful spy center.

Trams, cinemas and ration cards can contribute to a time atmosphere that is so close

Here the public prosecutor could have theoretically kicked the Enbom and put the persecution down. The only problem was that Jan Lodin had gone around and told the stories of Enbom to all journalists who wanted to listen to many: “Red Spy Group Blasted”, “Regular Kidnapping Spy Final Deception”, “Romantic Blooms in the Shadow of the Crime” – to quote the Express and DN.

If a competent lawyer was given the opportunity to increase the testimony of Enbom in small pieces, both the accused, the public prosecutor, the police and the press had emerged as idiots. The public prosecutor chose to do most of the few he had. Discreet were the roughest shouting from the persecution and the Enbom – which was therefore both accused and the most important witness of the public prosecutor against herself – stated six people as performance, including Lilian Ceder. Four of them were sentenced to every two, three, seven years and lifelong criminal work.

After the end of the Cold War Has there been a broad consensus that the one -bomb process was a murder of justice. Just over half a dozen authors have written books about the case. Now it has an excellent digging reporter Mats-Eric Nilsson (“The Secret Chef”, “Chateau What”) joined them. The question is why.

It is easy to become obsessed with the business en bomb. I myself sat on the Stockholm City archives with interrogation records to the chin and tried to understand what was true and what was incorrect. But unfortunately I can’t see that “Miss Ceder’s Secret” has something new to add.

Lilian Ceder – who was sentenced to eight months of criminal work – was not a protagonist in the process. Teachers from Småland, organized communist, a good typewriter who suffered from tuberculosis and had difficulty getting friends. During a wet party in Jan Myrdals She became pregnant, but she left her daughter after birth. In our diagnostic era she would probably have been sorted under the heading autism.

To renew The somewhat gray story of the fate of Lilian Ceder explains Nilsson for a number of other spy stores with the communists involved. Trams, cinemas and ration cards can contribute to a time atmosphere so close that Mats-Eric Nilsson starts to sound like a women’s magazine from the 1950s: “She actually once gave up a man”. “There is some weight, almost feminine about him, something that appeals to her mother feelings.”

At the age of 26, Lilian Ceder gets a chair as a journalistic volunteer at the Northern Light Flame and a colleague with Fritiof Enbom becomes: “After just a few greetings, she realizes that he will be her destiny”. Enbom explains that he is preparing a resistance movement for a coming war, shows her an unusable radio station and suggests that she should be trained as a telegraph.

Miss Ceder’s Secret? When the police took her in the interrogation, she felt the most relief and revealed everything she knew and believed and not so little. The one who sat on all the secrets was Fritiof Enbom. He lived for another twenty years, but never brought up anything. Unless the Russian security services are allowed to open their archives for Swedish journalists, we will never again know about the Fritiof enbom mystery. And it should hardly happen in the preliminary.
