MOSKOU (Antara) – French President Emmanuel Macron insisted on Monday that six French citizens who were held on the ship to Gaza to Gaza were immediately sent home, said the explanation of the Elysee Palace.
“The President of the Republic has demanded that the return of our six French citizens, whose ships are intercepted by the Israeli authorities off the coast of the Gaza Strip, executed as quickly as possible,” the president said in a statement published by the French BFMTV broadcaster.
The French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said that Paris had requested consular access to those who were held to facilitate their return.
Among French citizens who were held by Israel, were members of the European Parliament, Rima Hassan. He stated on social media that Madleen ships wear 12 crew members who are freedom flotilla activists, intercept and illegally ride through Israeli troops while sailing in international waters in the early days of Monday.
The crew also includes an environmental activist from Sweden, Greta Thunberg, who accused Israel and called for pressure on Sweden to guarantee his freedom and other activists.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the ship was directed to the port of Israel and that the regulations would be implemented to repatriate passengers to their respective countries.
