Jakarta (Antara) – PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) TBK and the Krakatau Steel Group prepares more than 500 hectares of land in the Krakatau Industrial Estate, Cilegon, Banten to support strategic investments in the sector of the steel industry.
Krakatau President Director Steel Akbar Djohan said that the determination of this country was intended to facilitate a large investment plan of the DeLong Steel Group, the 11th and 7th ranked steel producers in China, together with his subsidiary PT Dexin Steel Indonesia.
“We not only build a factory, but we also want to build a stronger and more global ecosystem of the national steel industry, so that the steel industry in Indonesia is able to support the fulfillment of national strategic project needs,” Akbar said in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday.

Offering land by the Krakatau steel group for DeLong Steel is a monumental step in the attempt to develop the new generation of steel industry in Indonesia.
The proactive step began in May 2025 when the Krakatau Steel Representative Team Delong Steel Group visited in China and performed the signing of the Raw Material Sales Cooperation (MOU) and other potential cooperation.
The signing of the MOU when purchasing raw materials between the two companies was also seen by Mr Ding Liguo as President of Shanghai Delong Steel Group.

Subsequently, Akbar Djohan continued on 3 June 2025 DeLong Steel Group together with PT Dexin Steel Indonesia brought a mutual visit to Krakatau Steel in the context of a direct assessment to the location of his new factory plan in the CileGon industrial area owned by Krakatau Steel.
The most important focus of exploring this collaboration is the construction of an integrated steel factory with a production capacity of a maximum of 3 million tonnes per year.
