Jakarta (Antara) – Indonesia invites Monaco to participate and to support the event Ocean Impact Summit (OIS) Planned to be held in Bali in June 2026 to strengthen the cooperation of sustainable sea protection and use.
This was transferred by Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Arif Havas Oegroseso to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the cooperation of Monaco Isabo Berro-Meladei on the sidelines “Blue Economy and Finance Forum” (BEFF) 2025 in Monaco, according to a written statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) in Jakarta on Monday.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed a number of strategic issues, one of which was the preservation of marine ecosystems, including coral reefs and sea biodiversity.
They also discussed the use of the sea in the blue economic schedule and seaweed -based innovation, preservation of mangroves and coastal ecosystems, as well as strengthening cooperation in digital and financial areas.
The Indonesian Indonesian Vice Minister Arif Havas Oecroseso was present “Blue Economy and Financial Forum” (Beff) 2025 on Monaco on 7-8 June 2025, which is also a special event of the Maritime Conference of the United Nations (UN Ocean Conference/Unoc).
The Indonesian vice minister of director of RI also attended the plenary session 4 with the title “Ensuring sustainable ocean management and finance”With the first theme -panel “Looking out: worldwide solutions for ocean financing” and the second panel theme “Statements and governance recommendations”.
The first panel emphasized various concrete solutions in bridging the gap of global marine financing, as well as transforming initiatives that supported the development of the blue economy in an inclusive and sustainable way.
While the second panel discusses the importance of political leadership and innovative policy strategies in encouraging marine financing and attracting sustainable investments within the global blue economic framework.
The participation of Indonesia in Beff 2025 marked the efforts of Indonesia in global maritime diplomacy and strengthening international cooperation for the protection and sustainability of marine resources.
BEFF 2025 is the initiative of Prince Albert II from Monaco, who uses a Unoc Momentum to encourage global dialogue and cooperation in the blue economy.
UNOC 2025 itself was held in Nice, France, on 9-13 June 2025, where the theme was taken “accelerating the action and mobilizing all perpetrators to maintain and use the sea in a sustainable way.”
